Perhaps we need to distinguish two different senses of "should". If I say something like "If you want to catch the bus, you should leave now", the "should" is merely expressing a relation between a goal and an action necessary to achieve that goal. But the normative ethical "should" isn't like that, I think. Compare "You should believe justice is good". I submit that this is more like the "should" of "you should believe that 2+2=4" - not because of any necessary consequences of not believing that, but rather because it's objectively true. But to believe that there are objectively true moral facts, you have to be a moral realist, right?
