“Why More Americans Are Saying They’re ‘Vaxxed and Done’” I think I’m about 80% vaxxed and done: 3x vaxxed, I’m basically not holding back on much, but indoor events with lots of people have to be things I’d really like to do (dancing!) and I’m happy enough to (obey the law and) wear a mask in settings people have little choice about entering, such as public transport or shops.

I'm waiting to make sure that hospital numbers are down before I go out much. The last thing I want is to get a bad roll of the dice and then not be able to be treated. (Or to increase the pressure on an already wobbly system)

Do you have any feel for how bad a roll that'd need to be, though? I haven't investigated this thoroughly, but the US CDC was saying the other day that people who die vaxxed have about 4 co-morbidies, and there's the ICNARC graph that's circulating on Twitter shows that requiring critical care is rare for the boosted. So I'm wondering whether I'm taking more risk driving to the party or whatever than I would be when I get there.

That's critical care though, not hospitalisation. And I don't fancy being hospitalised either!

I'm sure it's much safer than not having been boosted, but I'm still going to wait until the figures in hospital drop before I go in.

(The Scottish hospital figures seem to have plateaued over the last couple of days, so hopefully they'll start dropping again soon.)

Oh - and like you I'm not being *super* careful. We went out for breakfast on Monday morning - and there were 4 other people in the restaurant and it didn't bother me at all. But I won't be going to concerts or into the office for a while.
