Earthquake

Just felt my second earthquake in Cambridge (the first was the one on 23 September 2002). The BBC was slower to react than Facebook and LJ, who soon found information from the US Geological Service and their European equivalent. Hurrah for new meeja.

Ah, suddenly everything makes sense. I was almost-but-not-quite asleep when suddenly something woke me all the way back up again, I checked the clock, it was just before 1am. I just thought it was an enormous gust of wind though! It was kinda weird though, because it made my heart race (only slightly), which a simple gust of wind wouldn't usually do. Obviously my body had clued into the fact that there was something weird, even if my sleepy brain hadn't!

The muntjac barked for quite a while afterwards, so I think they must have been spooked by it.

What???? The BBC did not report, "Paul Wright in Cambridge has just exprerienced his second earthquake"? What is reporting coming to, I ask...
